HOW IS LADURÉE ICED CHESTNUT MADE? ?

At Ladurée, making iced chestnut is a delicate process that showcases artisanal know-how. It all begins with the rigorous selection of high-quality chestnuts, which are gently cooked. These chestnuts are then candied in a sugar syrup flavored with vanilla bean, impregnating the chestnut with an exquisite sweetness. This operation, which can take several days, produces iced chestnuts with a melting texture and perfectly balanced flavor. Finally, the process ends with a light glaze, which gives the chestnuts their shiny appearance and makes them irresistible. In this way, iced chestnuts embodies French elegance and savoir-faire, offering a perfect balance between sweetness and tradition.

WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT LADURÉE ICED CHESTNUTS ? ?

Ladurée iced chestnuts are distinguished by their exceptional quality and unique recipe, the fruit of refined craftsmanship. The specificity of these delights lies in the rigorous selection of top-quality chestnuts, carefully chosen for their size and flavor. These chestnuts are candied in the traditional way, by being slowly immersed in a sugar syrup flavored with vanilla bean. What makes Ladurée iced chestnuts particularly special is the perfect balance between the subtle crunchiness of the outside and the tenderness at the heart, sublimated by the sweet, natural scent of vanilla. Each iced chestnut is carefully prepared to offer an exquisite taste experience, uniting tradition and gourmandise.

HOW TO STORE LADURÉE ICED CHESTNUTS? ?

Ladurée iced chestnuts, true gourmet treasures, require careful storage to preserve their melt-in-the-mouth texture and delicate flavor. To prolong their freshness, we recommend storing iced chestnuts in a cool, dry place, away from heat and humidity. Ideally, they should be placed in an airtight tin to protect them from the air, which helps prevent them from drying out. If you want to keep your iced chestnuts for longer, you can refrigerate them, again in an airtight container. However, it's advisable to remove them from the fridge an hour or so before serving, to allow them to regain their optimal texture. Finally, it's important to note that, for optimum enjoyment, marrons glacés should be eaten soon after purchase.
